Featuring dramatic architecture designed for relaxed living and entertaining, the home boasts walls of windows, vaulted, exposed beam ceilings, and a spacious IPE deck, perfect for soaking in the breathtaking scenery or hosting unforgettable gatherings.
The open floor plan connects a renovated eat-in kitchen with a spacious island to dining and living spaces overlooking the views, and extends into a spacious pantry and laundry room. The main level features a luxurious primary suite complete with spa bath, dressing room and direct access to a private patio. There are two additional bedrooms and 1.5 baths that have been tastefully updated and enjoy peak-a-boo views, as well.
The lower-level suite offers level-in access from the carport complete with Tesla charger and also enjoys Bay views — ideal for guests, work-from-home, or multi-generational living. A long driveway offers plenty of space for parking. Set on a huge, private lot perched on its own hillside, there's plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors: meandering trails through the mature trees and three patios plus two balconies for taking in the Big Views. Charles D. Mullen (1926 - 2009) – Visionary Architect and Community Builder
Charles D. Mullen, a talented architect and longtime resident of Orinda, dedicated his career to shaping Northern California’s built environment. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he pursued his passion for architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1951. In 1959, Charles co-founded Charles Mullen Professional Designers, which later evolved into Mullen, Morris Alexander, Inc., a prominent architectural and planning firm. Over his decades-long career, Charles specialized in designing medical facilities, retirement communities, and commercial spaces—focusing on creating environments that combined practicality, comfort, and beauty. His notable projects included Casa Sandoval, a 245-unit retirement center in Hayward, and La Posada Retirement Center in Santa Cruz, both of which remain vibrant community anchors today. Charles was widely respected for his vision, craftsmanship, and leadership, serving as President of the Northern California Chapter of the American Institute of Building Design. His work, spanning from Eureka to Southern California, left a lasting legacy in the form of thoughtfully designed spaces that continue to serve generations.

Neighborhood
Perched above the city and offering the best panoramic views in the entire Bay Area, North Berkeley Hills is an incredibly peaceful residential neighborhood, yet not far from the hustle and bustle of the city’s more urban areas. Homes in the neighborhood are built in a variety of styles and feature spacious patio decks, manicured lawns and lushly landscaped gardens.
Depending on where you live, North Berkeley Hills residents can enjoy views of the San Francisco and Oakland skylines, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and Mount Tamalpais. For even more great views plus a variety of great outdoor activities, residents can take a short trip to nearby Tilden Regional Park. Park amenities vary between free and paid activities. Free activities available at TIlden Park include a beautiful botanical garden, the Little Farm, and nearly 40 miles of scenic hiking trails. For a small fee, the public can also swim at Lake Anza, take a spin on the Merry-Go-Round, or enjoy a round of golf at Tilden Park Golf Course.
Some residents in the southern part of North Berkeley Hills are within walking distance of the thriving retail district on Solano Avenue. Featuring a wide variety of stores, shops, and plenty of great restaurants, including:
Safeway Community Markets: Located at the southwest corner of Solano and Fresno Avenues, this is a great place to check off everything on your grocery list.
Noor & Sons Rug Gallery: Find handcrafted Oriental Rugs for your home, as well as rug cleaning and repair services.
Peet’s Coffee: It all started in Berkeley, and this location is ideal for your morning cup of coffee before you begin your commute.
